I was just playing this game yesterday :D I think that you could have mixed the instruments together a little better though. I like it though. Nice work! Very nostalgic :P

LemonCrush responds:

I think NG is making it sound funny because it doesn't sound like it normally does, mix-wise

Thanks though!

Your voice sounds like a mix between mark hoppus from blink 182 and the singer for nickleback. Which isn't a bad thing! I think you did pretty well though! I had fun listening to it. Drumming was awesome, the guitar had a bit too much distortion. And you have a nice voice :P

I love the music box :D It's one of my favorite instruments! It's my favorite tuned percussion at least, if you can even call it that. This is some great video game music though. I can see it in a survival challenge of some sorts. But the atmosphere it creates is really awesome. Again, music boxes=awesome. I want to add SOME sort of feedback how this could improve, so IF I MUST say something, I would say that you should have a bit more variety with your chord progressions. The melody changes up plenty, but I think the song would be more awesome if you added in a chorus of some sort... or even a bridge, just something to break away from the main melody. I hope this all helped! Great work!

Awesome! Thanks a lot for commenting. Yeah, i'm working on improving my melodies... Didnt think about using a bridge or anything. :P thanks a lot. That was really helpful.

It sounds like you use the same chord progression the entire song. You should try to add more parts to the song. You eventually add more instruments which change it up. But the whole song sounds like it is building more and more... but it goes nowhere. Try and add those instruments in earlier and get to a point where it really climaxes and everything gets really upbeat and awesome! Just make it a strong quick build and you will be good. Also add more parts! Nice work though.

DeafAndDead responds:

Yeah, I use the same chords throughout the song. If I had more time and could be arsed, I might have included more variety... Fair point about the building up to nothingness, I get ya there. I think that's something I'll have to address, because I feel as though it's something I could apply to more of my tracks although I personally prefer the slower buildups... Matter of opinion I guess.

Thanks for the review! :)

You have some lovely piano songs! I would try to work on the choir sound. because it sounds a little too fake. this is something funny i noticed but it kinda sounds like the skyrim Dovahkin theme :D But seriously very nice song. You can fake some of the fake sounding instruments by adding some reverb effects or echo to it. The sound is barely noticeable but nice work!
